Procedural Matters:

1. The race committee was represented by Steve Aulich (CRO for Delta Course).

2. Sukkyong Kim (jury member) attended the hearing as an observer.

Facts found

1. Slalom Course was the course designated for races 5, 6, and 8 sailed on 29 Nov 2024.

2. The race committee identified 2 boards as UFD in race 5, 1 board as BFD in race 6 and 4 boards as BFD in race 8, there was no general recal for those races.

3. NZL15 was among the boards identified as UFD/BFD in races 5, 6 and 8.

4. NZL became aware of the boards being identified as UFD/BFD soon after race 8, in the racing area.

5. Race 8 was started at 15:20 on 29 Nov 2024.

6. The protest time limit for the iQ Foil Open Women class on 29 Nov 2024 was 16:29.

7. The request for redress was delivered at 18:57 on 29 Nov 2024.


Conclusion

 

NZL 15  failed to deliver the request for redress within two hours after the incident, as required by RRS 62.2. There was no good reason for the PC to extend the time.
