A safety boat on the course to windward of the leeward gate had equipment of a Nacra 15.

Nacra 15 coach went to the safety boat to retrieve the equipment.

Nacra 15 coach had a working VHF but attempted no communication with the race committee.

The intrusion in the course area interfered with a racing board and caused a capsize giving rise to redress.

In addition to coaching service, Nacra 15 coach provides a critical on-water safety presence for the event.

Conclusion

Nacra 15 coach broke support boat regulations and SI19.3.
