Protest Submitted

Boats were on opposite tacks. Mercury c22 was on starboard tack. Southerly was on port. Mercury hailed starboard repeatedly and in good time. Southerly did not alter course and failed to keep clear. When we realised they were not giving way, we tried to avoid but they were too close and too fast. We had to duck for cover. The boats collided. We felt our skipper could easily have been killed. Mercury sustained major damage, requiring emergency assistance.
