Procedural Matters

Request for redress concerning the abandonemnt of race 9.

Facts Found

1.Before the start of race 9, the RC set a course at 295 degrees.

2. After the start of race 9, before boats rounded mark 1, the wind shifted from 295 to 245 degrees across the course area.

3. The race commitee determined this affected the fairness of the race.

4. When the boats were on leg 2, the race committee displayed flag N over flag A with three sounds.

Conclusion

1.There was neither an improper action nor improper omission of the race committee. Therefore, the requirements for redress in RRS 61.4(b)(1) are not met.
