  1. The technical committee observed Plouet Alan's personal flotation device forward of the joystick several times whilst racing in race 2.

  2. The Hansa 303 class rule C.1.1(b) states: “RRS 49.1 is changed as follows: …The crew(s) torso shall be aft of the joystick except when making brief adjustments to control lines.”

  3. The definition of ‘torso’ is not defined in the rules. 

  4. Several current English dictionaries define ‘torso’ as “the trunk of the human body considered without head, arms, or legs.”

  5. The torso of Plouet Alan and his crew were aft of the joystick.

FRA 3311’s complied with class rule C1.1(b) and no rules were broken.
