1. The wind was 15 to 20 knots and there were around 1m waves. 2. 10089 was stationary around one boat length below the starting line, approx 20 seconds before the starting signal, on starboard tack. 3. 10089 was close hauled course with his sails were flapping. 4. 9527 was ovelapped to leeward of 10089, less than one boat length away. 5. 9824 established a leeward overlap from clear astern with around half a boat length gap between the two boats. 6. 9824 was also then stationary around one boat length below the starting line, with her sails flapping, for around 10 seconds. 7. 10089 did not sheet in her main sail and contact occurred between the boom of 10089 and the right side of the head of the crew of 9824, injuring him. 8. 9824 informed the RC at the start boat and retired from race 4. 9. The crew of 9824 was evacuated in a rib for medical attention ashore. 10. Neither boat took a penalty. 11. 9824 did not sail race 5 also due to the crew's injury.
