Facts Found| | 26 and 28 were overlapped on the weather leg on port with 26 to windward. They were approaching a starboard tack boat on a collision course, When 10 boatlengths from the starboard boat 26 began to bear off slightly to pass astern of the starboard boat. 28 was 3 boatlengths to leeward of 26 when1 boatlengths from the starboard tack boat. 26 then crash tacked before the starboard boat had passed and avoided contact. 28 passed astern of the starboard boat. There was no contact and no boat took a penalty turn. The wind was around 18 knots with some swell.
