Standard Penalties

In accordance with NoR 1.4.2, the Race Committee may apply a standard penalty without a hearing or a discretionary penalty may be applied by the International Jury with a hearing.

The Race Committee may decide to protest a boat if it considers a standard penalty is inappropriate.

If a rule is marked with [SP] but is not listed below, standard penalties will not be used.

RACE COMMITTEE

DECLARATIONS

Failure to notify the race committee of ‘not racing’ (SI 2.2)

Failure to sign off  (SI2.3)

Failure to sign on (SI2.4)

Failure to notify the race committee of retirement (SI 2.5)

One point scoring penalty for the next race (unless this is the last race of the opening series, when it will be applied to the previous race).

CODE of CONDUCT

When not racing, not remaining clear of an area or an official boat. (SI 3.2 & 3.3)

One point scoring penalty in the last race of the day

COMMUNICATION with COMPETITORS

Leaving ashore before flag D is displayed (SI 4.5)

One point scoring penalty in the first race of the day
