Atlas 2 hire
J/70 Victorian Championship Vakaros Atlas 2 rental.
Each team competing will need an Atlas 2 unit for the regatta, those who don't already own one can hire a unit for the event. The hire fee is $30 per day.
You'll be provided with an Atlas 2 instrument ("the Device"). This instrument will display magnetic heading, SOG, hell/trim, distance to line, and an automatic countdown start timer and OCS status. You will not need to charge your device throughout the weekend: simply turn it on each morning and off at night.
You will be charged to your credit card on Friday 11 October 2024 for $90 (3 days x $30 hire fee) when you collect the unit, however, credit card details are required on the next screen to secure your hire unit.
Your credit card details will be kept on file as a security deposit for any loss of the device. The hire agreement is on the next screen.
Atlas 2 units come with the standard mounting brackets as per below.
Mast track slide bolt and two velcro straps.
Please ensure that the unit is tied on with the safety lanyard to save loss of unit.

Q: What functions will RaceSense perform automatically?
A: RaceSense will automatically start your timer, display DTL without pinging and provide notification, within a second after the start, of if a team is OCS or not.
Q: Will RaceSense clear the start line?
A: Yes! When you’ve cleared the line, or an infinite extension of the line, the device will show green lights and say “clear”. It is still your responsibility to restart, as per the rules, if you clear the extension of the line beyond the RC Signal or Pin boat. For boats that have not yet cleared their OCS, the Atlas 2 will display “OCS” for 4 minutes, after which point, clearing is no longer an option.
