Facts Found

 

1. AUS118 was approaching mark 2S on starboard run.

2. AUS118 entered the zone clear ahead of SIN2 and SIN33 and dropped spinnaker. Called to SIN2 and SIN33 - "no mark room."

3. SIN2 and SIN33 established an overlap inside the zone.

4. AUS118 bore away to give room to SIN2 and SIN33.

5. SIN2 collided with AUS118 and SIN2's spinnaker pole made contact with AUS118 skipper causing her to lose control and be thrown into the water.

6. AUS118 skipper received outside assistance and was unable to continue racing.


Conclusion

 

SIN2 retired prior to protest meeting and declined to be reprented.

Redress granted - position at the time of incident equal to 5th place.
