- The course for race 1B was 1GO. The second windward leg was changed, so the second windward mark was a new mark as per sailing instructions 9.2 and 11.1.
- Close to the second windward mark, boat 58 was involved in an incident with boat 57 which led to boat 58 being tangled with the mark and very slow to round it.
- Boats 38 and 40 both passed to windward of boat 58 at the windward mark on starboard tack, and continued to the offset mark.
- After clearing the windward mark, boat 58 bore away.
- Boat 40 gybed onto port within two boatlengths after rounding the offset mark.
- Boat 58 crossed ahead of boat 40, with boat 58 still on starboard.
- Boat 58 did not round the offset mark.
